NPs who work in LTC or Assisted Living: Need your Input on your Scope of Practice

Posted about 6 years ago by Liberty GAPNA State Chapter

NPs who work in LTC or Assisted Living in PA, I need your input: what types of management of the patient are you performing in your role as an NP?
Are you limited by your organization's policies? Does your collaborating agreement with your MD specifiy what you can and can not do? Do you admit new patients, order medications and treatments, OT, PT, diagnostics, etc? Do you order equipment, diabetic shoes, hospice and palliative care, and do you need the MD to co-sign all your orders?
Would love to hear from you. .!! thanks so much,
Ann
feel free to message me if you prefer. .  thanks so much for this input - I will be presenting on the scope of NPs in LTC and Assisted Living at the PMDA Conference in November in Hershey, PA - I hope you can join us!  Your feedback will be invaluable
