Job Description

If you arelooking for a collaborative, dynamic, physician-led practice environment where you can learn, grow, and excel in providing integrated, multidisciplinary, patient centered care, then Summit Health is the place to be! We are seeking a licensed Advanced Practice Nurse/Physician Assistantto work collaboratively with our Urology Team in Voorhees & Woodbury, NJ.

 Requirements include:  

  • 1-year experience preferred 

  • Advanced Practice Nurse / Physician Assistant License 

  • BLS Certification 

Responsibilities include: 

  • Obtain patient histories and performing physical examinations  

  • Order or perform diagnostic and therapeutic procedures  

  • Formulate a working diagnosis  

  • Review all lab and imaging results, discuss with supervising physician if needed and develop course of action with complex cases 

  • Prepare surgical packet for OR cases for the supervising physician by completing H&P, and reviewing each chart to ensure that the doctor have all that is required to complete the case 

  • Develop and implement a treatment plan  

  • Monitor the effectiveness of therapeutic interventions  

  • Offer counseling and education to meet patient needs  

  • Request, receiving, and signing for the receipt of pharmaceutical sample prescription medications and distribute the samples to patients in a specific practice setting in which the physician assistant is authorized to prescribe pharmaceutical medications and sign prescription drug orders  

  • Ordering and prescribing medications pursuant to N.J.S.A 45:9-27.19 et seq. 

  • Responsible for completing clinical forms in order to obtain prior authorization for prescription drugs 

  • Complete peer-to-peer review when required by the insurance company in order to obtain authorization for medication and/or procedures 

  • Serve as the first in line between staff and supervising physician, handling all callbacks that is triaged by the medical secretary and/or front-end staff  

  • Make appropriate referrals
